The 39-year-old singer reportedly commanded a hefty paycheck exceeding $6 million for her appearance at the masquerade ball, held for the son of India’s wealthiest man and his soon-to-be wife Radhika Merchant. 
Anant spared no expense for the star-studded event, also enlisting the talents of Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and Rihanna.
Anant, 29, is the son of Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries and Asia’s richest individual, with a net worth exceeding $114 billiо𝚗 according to Forbes. 
Rihanna was reportedly paid $5 million for her 90-minute set, with Katy Perry shining on stage in a stunning silver dress, radiating joy as she entertained the high-profile guests with her signature hits.
Katy’s performance, featuring her favorite songs, was said to be a highlight of the extravagant celebration, with MARCA reporting that she was compensated handsomely for headlining the prestigious event. Rihanna’s performance, while lacking in enthusiasm as captured in a video shared on social media, still showcased a repertoire of 19 songs, including her chart-topping hits.
The Ambani family is no stranger to extravagant celebrations, having previously hired Beyoncé for $6 million to perform at Anant’s sister’s wedding in 2018. 
Rihanna’s recent performance at another pre-wedding event for Anant and Radhika in March reportedly earned her £5 million ($6.33 million). These lavish events stand in stark contrast to the impoverished conditions of nearby slums, where residents work grueling hours for minimal pay.
Following her spectacular performance, Katy Perry shared glimpses of her luxurious Cannes trip on Instagram, including snapshots and a TikTоk clip of herself enjoying the serene sunset in a bikini and a sheer cover-up adorned with sequins. Embracing relaxation, she also promoted her non-alcоhоlic aperitif brand De Soi, co-founded in January 2022.
